Know Your Captains:
Aarti Motiani believes in changing thoughts into realities, dreams into experiences and expectations into accomplishments. Her journey as a writer started in 6th Grade when her teacher asked her to write a poem on her experience of the recent class road trip after which, it has been 7 years and her passion in writing grew as time passed. Aarti is a reputed writer on social media platforms, has been celebrated in various anthologies, she is also a celebrated spoken word artist and is all set to be published by an international, US based publishing house soon. She not only want to share what she knows with her future mentees but, also wishes to learn from them.
Ruhan Naqash, Like many, took up engineering not by choice but because of peer pressure. But, unlike many he still continued following his passion which is writing! Although he started off by writing poems in his mother tongue Urdu, he proved that more than language, what is important for a poet is the thought process and switched to writing poems in English with ease. He has had his works published in inking pages, a national magazine and various other online magazines! So, Ruhan here will cover some basic history of poetry and introduce you to some exciting poets and help you discover the poet in you by having sessions on confessional poetry, contemporary poetry, micropoetry, etc and even feature video sessions involving Rita Dove poetry ( a contemporary Activistic poet) and Agha Shahid Ali’s poems ( an Indian poet) Further, Ruhan will also help those interested to set up their own blog and publish their writings there!
